DPF and EGR problems are the most-misdiagnosed faults on modern diesels — and the most expensive to get wrong. Drova reads regen status, EGR position, soot load and glow-plug data on site, then tells you whether it's a £40 driving fix, a £200 EGR clean or a deeper job.
Most DPF problems come from short-journey driving — the filter never gets hot enough to burn off the soot. Often a forced regen and a couple of motorway runs sorts it. Sometimes the EGR is sticking open and dumping unburnt fuel into the filter. We confirm before charging for replacement parts.

Brief motorway run yes — that may regen the filter and clear the light. If the light stays on or limp mode kicks in, stop and book a diagnostic — driving on a fully blocked DPF can damage the turbo and injectors.
Mostly short journeys — the filter needs sustained motorway driving to reach regen temperature. Faulty sensors, EGR sticking and turbo problems also load it faster than normal. Drova reads regen status to confirm which.
No — removing or disabling EGR is illegal for road use in the UK and an automatic MOT fail under emissions checks. Drova won't fit deletes. EGR cleans and proper replacements are the legal route.
Flashing glow plug light (rather than the steady amber on cold start) usually means a misfire or DPF/EGR fault stored. Drova reads the codes and tells you which.
